Pine Cones & Peanut Butter

  A few days ago I looked outside and was excited to see that our Crocus's have come up and blossomed. I always enjoy these early spring bulbs. It is always so welcome after the winter. I was even a bit more excited this year because I could share these flowers with my daughter. After breakfast we got dressed and headed out to the backyard.

  This blog and page were inspired by an otherwise uneventful trip to our local grocery store. Our walk to this particular store includes a colourfully painted underpass.

  This blog will be a slightly different format than you may be accustom from me. We have had some snow this week. So I decided it would be a good time to do the classic peanut butter and pinecone bird feeder craft I enjoyed from my childhood and of which  I named this blog site.

   It was a couple of weeks past Christmas and about a week and a half before our neighbourhood's next scheduled recycle pick up and our home is full of cardboard, paper, glass and styrofoam. I decided to spend an afternoon getting it all to our local recycle drop-off facility. Of course, my three year old loves to be involved in such projects. So we begun.

  A sunny winter day is a great time to take a walk with your shadow. And that is exactly what my three year old and I did today. We walked along the street and our shadows came with us, we walked along a dirt path and our shadows came with us, we turned down another street and our shadows followed along too. Not only did our shadows come along, but so did the shadows of our stroller too!

  We recently had a very big wind storm. The winds were strong enough to actually blow a board off our fence. While I was out hammering it back up my daughter noticed that a small circular spot was sticking out. "Why" she asks.
